Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 25, the Fuenlabrada campus (assembly hall. Management building) will host the ninth edition of the 'IBM-URJC Smart Cities Seminar' seminar, which on this occasion is presented with the subtitle of 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 'Quantun Computing' in the IoT of the new Smart Cities'

The objective of this edition is to see how these technologies are being used in areas such as communications, transportation, energy efficiency, etc.

“It is a fairly multidisciplinary seminar, in which we are going to address everything from the legal challenges of AI to the new business opportunities that these technological changes generate, including, among other topics, the implementation of 5G,” says Julio Ramiro Bargueño, professor of the Signal Theory Area, and member of the 'Smart E2' chair, organizer of the event.

The course, like every year, has the collaboration and sponsorship of IBM. In this case, the technology multinational also contributes the participation of its experts, one of them, Fernando Sendra, one of IBM Spain's greatest specialists in quantum computing.

There will also be an important institutional and technical presence from the city of Fuenlabrada, with the Councilor for Urban Planning, Ana María Santiago and the manager of the Housing Institute, José Miguel Aguilar Fernández.

There will also be time for debate and exchange with the speakers, “something highly valued by attendees,” says Julio Ramiro. The seminar has already registered around 100 registrations.

The seminar is intended for URJC students but also for all those interested in these subjects. For URJC students, 0 ECTS have been allocated if the course is completed.
