The campaign promoted by the National Transplant Organization has been visiting different Spanish cities since October 11 in order to find bone marrow donors and help patients affected by diseases such as different types of leukemia or lymphomas. Luís Giménez Benavides, academic director of University Social Responsibility from the Vice-Rectorate of Quality and Strategy and coordinator of the event, explains that “every year we collaborate with the National Transplant Organization and the Transfusion Center of the Community of Madrid”, and that, After the success of other campaigns, it has been decided to use the Móstoles campus as the venue that will host this event in Madrid.

A bus convertible into a stage will be installed at the main entrance of the venue, and attendees will be able to enjoy games, listen to testimonies from patients and donors, and perform a physical activity guided by the Military Emergency Unit. In addition, the event will have the participation of students present in the donor database, "who will explain their experience and motivate their classmates," says the academic director. Those students who register will be able to enjoy a meal and a gift raffle, among which is a ball and a shirt signed by Atlético de Madrid players that will be provided by the Madrid team's Foundation.

“The importance of this event is very great, increasing the database of bone marrow donors increases the possibility of someone being compatible and, consequently, being able to save a life,” explains Luis Giménez, who has high expectations for the campaign, having Keep in mind that in other communities hundreds of donors have been obtained. “Everything is planned so that attendees have fun and raise awareness about the importance of this type of donations,” concluded the academic director.
