The exhibition reflects on the interactions between climate change, freshwater ecosystems and ecofeminism. Through a route that combines augmented reality with scientific, plastic and audiovisual material, the current management of environmental problems related to water is questioned.
Genua Olmedo, organizer of the event, highlights the importance of raising awareness among students about the difficulties that women in the third world have, “climate change affects women in developing countries more since they have less access to water, this phenomenon can affect menstruation and pregnancy.” The URJC researcher in the area of ecology highlights that the main objective of the day is “to give a voice to women who do not have one.”
The symposium will end with a 'round table' in which URJC teachers such as Berta López Mir, professor in the Geology area, or Luis Merino Martín, coordinator of the Biology degree, as well as staff from other universities, will participate.
The exhibition will remain available until November 24 at the Móstoles Campus. Subsequently, it can be visited at the University of Girona, University of Vic, University of València, Universidad Complutense Madrid and University of Murcia, until the end of the year.
The event, which will take place in person between 18:00 p.m. and 20:00 p.m., will have 'RAC' recognition and registration will be managed through a form.
