The purpose of the congress is to reflect on the influence that the media, particularly digital platforms, have on the emotional health of youth and their ability to express and manage the vulnerabilities and emotional challenges that arise in life.

Along these same lines, the day also aims to train adults on how to manage the relationship between social networks and minors, "We let them use social networks, and many times we don't even know how to use them ourselves, we have to educate ourselves and understand that it can be dangerous,” says Esther Martínez Pastor, co-director of the congress and professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the URJC.

The conference, organized thanks to the support of the Vice-Rectorate of Campus Community, Culture and Sports URJC, will have a large number of speakers organized in different thematic tables. These sections are 'media', 'youth', 'psychology', 'research' and 'foundation and institutions'.

The event is aimed at students, researchers, professionals and teachers as well as anyone interested in the topic. The idea is to present communications from researchers on the topic that nourish knowledge about minors and social networks, focusing on the different vulnerabilities and consequences of their use on emotional health.

The event presents a relationship with the exhibition titled 'Open your eyes' that can be visited on the Campus in Fuenlabrada until next November 6.

The students of the Rey Juan Carlos University who attend the Congress, which will be held online and in person, will have to fill out a registration form and you will be able to obtain 0 ECTS. To obtain the certificate of attendance it will be necessary to attend 6% of the sessions and participate with a question each day in the session of your choice.
