In the ranking known as Shanghai, which analyzes the research dimension of universities based on various items, the URJC stands out, in this order, in the fields of “Hotel and Tourism Management”, “Communication”, “Dentistry”, “Ecology”. ", "Education", "Agricultural Sciences", "Business Administration and Management" and "Chemical Engineering".

In its latest edition, the URJC stands out in the scientific knowledge generated in the field of “Hotel and Tourism Management” (among the best 150 in the world), obtaining first place in scientific production in the Community of Madrid and second in Spain in the influence it has. In “Communication”, for its part, the URJC stands out in the first regional position in relation to the influence of research and international cooperation. Thus, in “Dentistry”, the most notable item is also that of the influence of the research generated.

It should be noted that the URJC scores again in this field for the first time since 2018. For its part, in “Ecology”, the ranking also highlights what is related to the production and influence of the research generated. Obtaining the best values ​​in the Community of Madrid and the fifth highest in Spain. The URJC is also the first in research influence and international collaboration in the region in the field of “Agricultural Sciences”, and finally, the ranking recognizes, for the first time, research work in the field of “Business Administration and Management”. ”, which enters directly among the best 400 universities in the world and “Education”, which is among the first 500.

According to the Deputy Vice-Rector for Strategy, Diana Benito-Osorio, “the results shown by the Shanghai ranking this year are even more positive than in previous years. We debuted in three specialties, which is not easy at all, and we do so in “Dentistry”, “Business Administration and Management” and “Education”, with resounding success, standing out among the 300, 400 and 500 best universities in the world in those areas, respectively.”

Benito-Osorio indicates that “it is also a reason for congratulations that our work in other specialties continues to be recognized at the highest level. Thus, we remain among the 150 best in the world in "Hotel and Tourism Management"; we remain among the 300 best in "Communication" and "Ecology"; among the 400 best in "Agricultural Sciences" and among the 500 best in "Chemical Engineering" "We are adding more and more recognized areas and all in positions of international relevance, so we look forward to submitting to the next evaluation."
