The university community of the Alcorcón campus has a new renewable energy infrastructure with the photovoltaic installation that has just been installed.
The power that the new plant can achieve is 184,52 kWp. This will mean an energy contribution that will cover around 29% of the electrical consumption of the Campus Management building and around 16% of the Departmental II building, potentially reducing the electricity bill by more than €35.000 per year. The plant also makes it possible to avoid a total of 106.787 kg/year of CO2 emissions.
In addition to the Alcorcón plant, the installation of a photovoltaic plant on the Fuenlabrada campus and other projects that are in the drafting or preliminary studies phase are currently being carried out, with plans to continue with this sustainability policy in subsequent years. .
This new facility represents another step in the URJC's firm commitment to renewable energies in the sense expressed in the institutional declaration on the climate emergency recently published by the institution.
