The awards, granted by the Chair of Health Innovation and Management of the URJC and the Gaceta Médica magazine, recognize the best health centers, services and units in all of Spain for the quality of patient care.

The Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital in Móstoles, with which the Rey Juan Carlos University collaborates on a regular basis, has obtained the award for Best Hospital of Medium Complexity and the award that recognizes the Best Humanization Plan in Health Care.

For its part, the HU of Fuenlabrada, also related to the URJC, has managed to have the Best Urology Service.

The professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the URJC and director of the Chair of Innovation and Health Management, Ángel Gil de Miguel, has pointed out that this institution “works for excellence in quality of care”, likewise, the professor, "He has expressed satisfaction at having reached levels of participation in the contest similar to those recorded before the pandemic, with centers, services and units from all over Spain participating."

The 'Best In Class' awards ceremony took place on November 21 at the Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe in Valencia. The 2023 edition was its eighteenth edition.

The Community of Madrid, the most awarded

The Madrid region has obtained a total of 18 awards, among which the four awards obtained by services and units of the General University Hospital, Gregorio Marañón, stand out: Hospital Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy in IMiDs, Microbiology and Pediatrics.

Madrid also wins the recognition for the Best Primary Care Center, which, in this case, falls on the Los Alpes health center, in the Las Rosas neighborhood. It is located in the San Blas-Canillejas district, in the northeast of the capital.

Galicia and Cantabria, the next in prizes

The Galician and Cantabrian communities follow Madrid in awards with 6 and 5, respectively. In the first community, the Santiago University Hospital Complex has collected two awards: Best Cardiology and Infectious Diseases Service, and an honorable mention for the Intensive Medicine Service.

In the case of Cantabria, the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital has won five awards and an honorable mention. The recognitions it has received in this edition are: Best Schizophrenia Unit; Best HIV/AIDS Unit; Best Hospital Pharmacy Service in Oncology; Best Rheumatology Service; and Best Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service. In addition, it has obtained honorable mention for its Infectious Diseases Service.
