A few days that analyze the situation in Palestine and Israel

These sessions are within the framework of the 'X International Seminar on World Communication and Civilization Meeting: the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict'. They consist of 2 sessions: one last Tuesday, December 5 and another this Monday, December 11 in the Assembly Hall of the Quintana headquarters of the URJC. It should be noted that today's session is exclusive for students of the Master in International Journalism.

This event will have the presence of experts in this matter such as Jesús A. Núñez, co-director of the Institute of Conflict Studies and Humanitarian Action (IECAH), or Teresa Aranguren, journalist specialized in international information from the Arab world and conflict zones. These sessions will be attended by researchers and professionals from the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Valencia, collaborators in the Seminar.

Sonia del Valle de Frutos, director of the Master's Degree and the 'Promapipiculturinternacional' Research Group and one of the organizers of this event, states that this seminar “aims to be a space for possible solutions and interpretations in order to establish peaceful contributions in their resolution regarding to war conflicts.”

In turn, the organizer highlights how essential it is for students to have training and knowledge about political, economic and cultural conflicts, regardless of their magnitude. “According to the latest conflict barometer from the Heidelberg Institute, there are currently 21 wars, of the 363 conflicts verified worldwide,” explains Sonia del Valle, who took the opportunity to comment that the fourth industrial revolution, where digitalization and artificial intelligence are protagonists , is favoring hate speech and misinformation, especially present when international conflicts take place, to be amplified by social networks.
