This new proposal from the Felipe II Foundation aims to make public gastronomy accessible to everyone, being one of the few initiatives in the country that presents this opportunity. These degrees will be taught online and blended through the university project MaGIC, at the expense of the creation of a high-performance and gastronomic research center, which will be located in Aranjuez.

Blanca Mayandía, director and coordinator of the Felipe II Foundation, explains that the ecosystem created by the entity is unique, since in Spain there is an accessibility problem regarding gastronomic studies. “These courses are intended for professionals in the sector and for postgraduate students. We want to focus on hoteliers being able to improve their knowledge and expand it,” comments the director.

The degrees address different topics within the world of restoration, from gastronomic communication to culinary arts, and you can find degrees such as 'Creation of gastronomic content for social networks', 'Design of gluten-free menus' or 'Circular gastronomy and academic treatment of vegetable product Km0'.

“We believe that it is necessary to train many people in the field of gastronomy, it is known that in this country there is a lot of gastronomic talent, but there are many difficulties in studying it” explains Blanca Mayandía, who affirms that the URJC is the first public university that manages everything related to gastronomy and makes it accessible.
