“The Waves of Nothingness” is a novel that presents an introspection, both literary and philosophical, into the process of inner destruction that a person suffers when a loved one becomes a victim of terrorism.

The author of the work states that the reasons that led him to write the work are found in “the permanent feeling of vulnerability to terrorism that is experienced in societies like Spain, in the fragility in this regard that accompanies anyone today. ”.

The recognition granted by the awards jury, made up of the writer Ricardo Magaz, the journalist Luis Romeo Bartumeus and the editor Héctor Escobar, from the 'Eolasdiciones' label, represents an “impulse to continue writing literature, to continue developing this facet of artistic creativity and at the same time unite it with that of thought and philosophy.”

The work that won the first prize was finally "The Conspiracy of Thirds", by Miguel Ángel Carcelén and the novel “The Lost Children” written by José Romero was another of the finalists in the contest.

Professor Barraca has a Doctor in Law and Philosophy from the UCM and an academic at the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Spain. He has a extensive literary work and some of his previous compositions have already achieved distinctions in various competitions.
