The new edition of 'HackOn' will take place on February 22 in the Aula Magna of the Aulario II of the Móstoles campus of the URJC. The origin of this day dates back to 2019 and more than a thousand people have already participated in it over the years. This event hosts different dynamics such as workshops, competitions, talks, or questions and answers.

To this end, this day will have the presence of high-level professionals such as Josep Albors, head of research and awareness at ESET Spain; Borja Palancar and Daniel Madrid, Manager and General Manager, respectively, of the Strategic Cybersecurity Consulting Practice of Minsait; or Gonzalo Frontela Hernández, level 3 analyst at Deloitte.

In this new edition, the organization has opted for a hybrid modality between activities and talks throughout the day: “we believe that in this way we can accommodate many more attendees, since we are not limited by the capacity of the workshops” they declare from the organization of the day. Another novelty is found in the CTF competition, since it will be held on a weekend and the modality will be in groups, since, in the words of the organizers, "we believe that in the cybersecurity sector it is essential to know how to work as a team and a CTF seems like an unbeatable way to promote it.”

The project has been underway since 2019 and has expectations of continuing to be carried out in the future. “One of the most beautiful things about this event is seeing how the most veteran organizers leave and the more 'junior' ones continue organizing the days with great enthusiasm,” say the organizers, who identify the success of the project in “the passion and dedication with the one in which the students of the grade prepare the act.” The organization has also taken the opportunity to thank all the volunteers involved in the project who have spent months working on the design and dissemination of the event.

La registration to this event It remains open until February 19, and URJC students will be awarded 0,1 ECTS credits for every two hours of training attended.
