The activity consists of forming teams of 5 members who must generate an innovative idea in 48 hours. Each group will have to choose one of the 5 proposals, revealed during the first moments of the HACKATON. Once the theme is selected, the participants will have the mission of developing a business idea and selling it to a jury.

The teams will have an extra team member who will manage the times and methodologies, they will also get the help of CEOs and experts from Startups and Companies, as well as, from the URJC business accelerator, 'Spin Out' and specific presentations for each point of the project.

The jury will be made up of FCEE professors, Alicia Blanco and María Teresa Ballestar, by the person responsible for relations with universities of MAPFRE, Alberto Quilez, and by Teresa Bruxeda, 'project manager' of 'Imagin Planet'. In total, four prominent members of the world of entrepreneurship will be in charge of selecting the best business proposal, thus distributing more than 5000 euros in prizes.

A Hackathon is a competition for solving challenges and developing solutions, capable of becoming business ideas through multidisciplinary teams and innovation methodologies facilitated by mentors from Startups and companies such as MAPFRE, Google, Imagin, Microsoft, Zrive, U4IMPACT or Dominos Pizza .

The event has been organized by student associations UNION Campus y Hermes URJC which they affirm, through Mario Balsera Rodriguez, that it is “the largest entrepreneurship and innovation event at the Rey Juan Carlos University.”
