The activity in question consists of a debate inspired by the literary universe of The 'Hunger Games', where participants will analyze the political and social context of the post-revolutionary world described in the saga.

The political-social contextualization of the simulation is based on the fact that an authoritarian government that has been in place for decades has just ended, and after eliminating the authoritarian leaders, this initiative proposes the rebirth of Panem as a democratic country, based on freedom and agreement.

Regarding the operation of the simulation, ASESP once again uses the methodology it used in previous editions, which consists of combining debates in commissions made up of a maximum of 20 participants. In these spaces, specific topics will be discussed, and they will be combined with the debate in the plenary session, in this way, a balance is achieved between the low overcrowding of the Committees, with a global vision and sharing in the Plenary Session.

From the management of ASESP, they affirm that the event aims to “encourage critical thinking, reflection on political issues, as well as promote interdisciplinary dialogue between students from different areas.” Furthermore, they add that 'The Hunger Games' provide a fascinating context to “explore a variety of themes, such as power, resistance, social justice and the fight for human rights, that are relevant both academically and in The real world."

Irene Díaz Jarabo, ASESP communications member, wanted to highlight the relevance of the press team, stating that: “Students will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom in a real and dynamic situation.” The different positions that a journalist can apply for within the event are distributed among chronicler, reporter, presenter, announcer, photographer, cameraman or video editor.

The Student Association of Parliamentary Simulations was born in 2017 as an apolitical association that aims to achieve greater involvement and understanding of world political life by university students, as well as promote the personal and professional fulfillment of students in different areas. areas.
