Last Wednesday, the Counselor of Scientific Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Spain visited the LATE  from the King Juan Carlos University. During the visit he was able to learn about the different areas of the laboratory as well as its most important lines of research and the relationship that, through these areas, it has had in the last 11 years with different companies, universities and plastics associations in China.

LATEP, which this year celebrates 20 years of history at the Rey Juan Carlos University, since 2013 has had different lines of action in China, participating and also being invited as a speaker at different international conferences organized there.

In 2016, LATEP and the URJC signed an important collaboration framework agreement with the Chinese Plastic Pipe Association which brings together the most important companies in this sector in the country. On the other hand, in 2019 the laboratory was invited as a speaker at the '6th China International Plastic Pipe Conference' where it presented their latest research on plastic recycling, a presentation that was recognized as one of the best by the organizers of the congress.

Next November, LATEP has been invited by the president of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CPPIA) to the China International Plastics Exhibition, which will be held in Nanjing and will bring together more than 80.000 attendees. The occasion will serve to discuss a new framework for collaboration between the laboratory and this industrial sector.

All of these initiatives were highly valued by the Scientific Affairs Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, who showed significant interest in establishing new collaborations based on the experience and technical capabilities of LATEP with companies and research organizations in her country.
