The objective of this initiative is to raise funds to provide scholarships to children and young people at risk of social exclusion through two schools: Centro Educativo Inmaculada in Olanchito (Honduras) and Miguel de Cervantes in Puebla (Mexico).
From April 22 to 24, a space will be set up in the Clinic lobby to receive book donations. All those who wish to contribute are encouraged to donate reading books of all ages, including fiction, science fiction, poems, among other literary genres. It is essential that the books are in good condition.
The supportive collaboration of the community has been fundamental in the success of this initiative. During the Maior Foundation's solidarity journey, more than 20.000 books have been collected, which has allowed hundreds of scholarships to be awarded to those who need it most. These books are purchased by the online bookstore, Libros BP, and the amount obtained is allocated entirely to study scholarships, cafeterias and school supplies for the most disadvantaged families.
"We are excited to continue with this important mission in favor of the education and well-being of children and young people in vulnerable situations," said Dr. Daniel Álvarez, general director of the URJC University Clinic. "We invite everyone to join this cause and do their bit to change lives through education."
An initiative that delves into the social commitment of both the University Clinic and the Rey Juan Carlos University as a whole.
