The University Ombudsman is the single-person body commissioned by the University Senate that, in accordance with article 161 of the University Statutes, is responsible for defending and guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of the members of the University Community. Its fundamental purpose is to contribute to the proper functioning and improvement of the quality of the Rey Juan Carlos University. For these purposes, it may supervise the activity of the collegiate and individual bodies of the University, always acting with due respect for the rights and freedoms of people within the framework of the procedure, rules and current legislation, reporting to the University Senate. of their actions.
In the exercise of his functions, as stated in article 163 of the University Statutes, the University Ombudsman will not be subject to any imperative mandate and will act with full autonomy and independence from any university body.

Elected University Ombudsman by the Faculty of the Rey Juan Carlos University on July 13, 2023 in the first vote by 207 votes in favor (of 239 attendees).
University Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Statistics at the Rey Juan Carlos University. His research scope is focused on information visualization, data analysis, and cloud and high-performance computing. He has published more than 70 international publications both in JCR journals (more than 25 publications in the SCI JCR, with more than half located in Q1) and in highly recognized international conferences. He has three six-year research years and has been Principal Investigator in multiple competitive projects, of which four belong to the national plan. He also has 5 DOCENTIA (the last 4 with an Excellent rating) for the results of his teaching.
He has spent stays abroad in different prestigious international centers such as CERN (Geneva, Switzerland), NeSC (Edinburgh, United Kingdom), NRC (Ottawa, Canada) and University of Melbourne (Melbourne, Australia). Highly involved with the University Community, he has been Deputy Director of Students at the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering and Vice Chancellor of Digital Transformation and Teaching Innovation during the pandemic, in addition to holding various management and coordination positions both at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Professor of Administrative Law at the URJC (University of Judiciary of the Judiciary of the Basque Country). She has provided external training to public employees and has served on the examining board for specialization tests in the contentious-administrative jurisdiction, convened by the General Council of the Judiciary (Official State Gazette of May 23, 2022). Her current research focuses on the ethical and legal aspects of Artificial Intelligence.
