Basic Information
Introduction
Today there is a training demand in the field of the world of Sport, linked to the management of football clubs and specifically in the field of Sports Management and the Technical Secretariat. This need appears derived from the professionalization of the structures of high-performance sports clubs as well as in the levels of training and sports technification. The Law of Sports Professions has established in the Community of Madrid, the functions and competences of technical directors, thereby defining the training framework necessary for their qualification. This course responds to the need to train professionals in sports management with the knowledge and the appropriate technical profile to be able to respond effectively to the current demands of the professional soccer sports system.
The co-organizing institution of the course is the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the entity that directs football in Spain. It was founded on September 29, 1913. The RFEF is affiliated with the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) and the European Union of Football Associations (UEFA), the highest football organizations at world and European level respectively, and the Olympic Committee Español (COE), as a federation with Olympic sports.
The RFEF has more than 15 years of experience in training coaches, and for 8 years they have been teaching postgraduate degrees in collaboration with Spanish universities.
Since 2016, a line of collaboration has been created between the RFEF and the URJC for the joint teaching of different own degrees, with the satisfaction of both parties, which justifies the continuity in the collaboration between both institutions.
With the proposal for the joint organization of this course that is presented, the RFEF has been able to choose the URJC as the only Spanish university to co-organize the delivery of master's degrees and postgraduate degrees.
Objectives
The main objective of the course is to train professionals in sports management within the field of football, to improve and strengthen the structures of football clubs and the improvement of the professional and personal skills of their sports managers. Completion of this course will allow students to acquire the basic skills of a sports director.
