Mª Lourdes Meléndez Morillo-Velarde

General Secretary

Graduated in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid and Doctor of Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, with an extraordinary Doctorate award, University Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University. She is a corresponding Academician of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. She has held the position of Head of the Delegate Teaching Unit of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences in Alcorcón between 2006 and 2014. She has performed the functions of Substitute Magistrate in the Social Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid between the years 2010 and 2014. She has been Deputy Director General of Social Security Collaborating Entities, in the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, between 2014 and 2018.

Her area of ​​specialization, teaching and research, is Labor Law. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals, as well as contributions to collective works and monographs. She has participated in various competitive research projects, regionally and nationally. She has been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences.

Powers of the General Secretariat

The powers that articles 83 and 84 of the University Statutes attribute to the General Secretariat are the following:

  • Notary of the acts and agreements of the URJC
  • Drafting and safekeeping of the minutes of the collegiate bodies of the URJC in which the Secretary exercises
  • Supervision of compliance with the agreements and resolutions of the University Senate, the Governing Council and the Rector
  • Publicize the agreements and resolutions of the governing bodies of the URJC and supervise and coordinate the publication, where appropriate, in the official newspapers of the State or the Community of Madrid
  • Coordination of electoral processes
  • Preparation and updating of the census of academic positions of the central structure of the University, as well as of the management teams of centers, faculties, schools and departments
  • Directorate of the Legal Department
  • Directorate of the Registry and General Archive of the URJC
  • Custody of the collaboration agreements of the URJC. Conventions Commission
  • Preparation of the annual course report
  • Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the URJC Foundations
  • Assistance to the Rector in the tasks of organization and administration of the URJC
