The University's Energy Management System complies with the international standard

The URJC Energy Management Systems have successfully passed the audit carried out by the Spanish Association for Standardization thanks to compliance with all the requirements demanded by the ISO 50.001 standard. A regulation that seeks to ensure continuous improvement in everything related to energy, citizen welfare and environmental sustainability.

The accreditation and certification of these Energy Management Systems is applied at the Móstoles and Fuenlabrada campuses.

Real-time energy consumption

UNEFE is currently designing a new project that will show the energy consumption of the Móstoles campus in real time and on all the campus screens. In this way, both students and university staff will be informed of what is consumed and how to reduce the university's environmental footprint through good energy practices.

In 2014, the URJC became the first Spanish university to implement an ISO 50001 Energy Management System certified by Aenor. Three years later, the certificate was renewed again thanks to the Energy Efficiency Unit (UNEFE), in collaboration with the University Maintenance Service and professors from the Móstoles Campus. The system promotes constant reduction of energy consumption and its efficient use, participating in various energy efficiency projects and activities in search of consumption savings.

La UNEFE was founded in 2015 as an energy manager for the buildings belonging to the university. It is transversal in nature and has full powers in terms of energy efficiency.
