Professor José Ramón Monrobel dies

Written by Beatriz Rodríguez Herráez

Professor José Ramón Monrobel, who was Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, has passed away this past weekend.

After a long illness this past May 3, our colleague José Ramón Monrobel, full professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Rey Juan Carlos University, an entity where he began his teaching work in 1991 when he was still the Ramón Carande Study Center. He held various management positions beginning with being Vice-Dean of Academic Planning (2000-2002), to later become Vice-Rector for Students (2013-March 2017) and later Vice-Rector for Academic Planning (March 2017-October 2017). His last responsibility was assumed in November 2017 when he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences (November 2017-2019).

His loss has caused great consternation among the university community and among all those who knew him, as evidenced by the number of memories and words of affection that have been appearing on social networks since the moment of his farewell. Above all, he has been a magnificent teacher, a great person who was very loved by all those who were able to share a moment in his life with him and that is why he left many friends.

From here we want to collect the words of someone who knew him very well and who defines him as: “An endearing, close and generous person. He is always willing to help anyone who asks.

A good manager and a good teacher. We will miss his clairvoyance.

Gone too soon. We can only remember him and continue working for his beloved university.”

We can add little more, just remember Rosa, his wife; Paula and Gonzalo, his children; and all of his family. D.E.P
