Written by Beatriz Rodríguez Herráez

The finalists for the 8th edition of Factoría de Talento have already been selected, and one of them is a student from our Faculty, Virginia Lorenzo.

Last September, the 8th edition of the Talent factory was launched, which turned out to be a success despite the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. 719 submitted their candidacy to the selection process, of which 33 belonged to the URJC. Of the total number of candidates, the 21 participants have been selected, characterized by the heterogeneity of the group of finalists, with young people who carry out studies as diverse as Architecture, Psychology, Telecommunications, Classical Singing, Medicine, Politics, Industrials, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Biology, Tourism, Law, Chemistry or International Studies. Coming from 11 different universities or study centers. One of those finalists is a student from our Faculty, Virginia Lorenzo, a Business Administration and Tourism student, and four others have also been selected who stayed at the gates of the final, so a total of five students will be able to take advantage of the opportunity given by this award.

Virginia Lorenzo says that she waits at Factory “I want to be able to control my fears so they don't paralyze me. I would like to learn to stop minimizing my achievements and not be so perfectionistic and critical of myself. I would like to be one of those people who leave a mark and who transmit warmth and tranquility to those around them. I would like to remain compassionate and empathic with others and remain humble. I would like to live an exciting, balanced and meaningful life that I can be satisfied with".

The finalists will enjoy, between January and June, an intense training program in areas such as leadership, innovation and communication, with a personal coach who will help them improve their self-knowledge and guide their future. They will also develop a project with a multidisciplinary team around one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
