On Thursday, April 29, the prizes for the winners of the XII Madrid Economics Olympiad were awarded at the Auditorium of the University of Alcalá de Henares. The winners were fifteen second-year high school students, three from each of the five Madrid public universities participating in this phase. Among them, the winners were the following:
First: Álvaro Herrero-Tejedor Jiménez de Andrade and his teacher Alberto Barrera Rodríguez, Colegio Retamar.
Second: Inés Lagarejos Domínguez and her teacher María Jesús Sanz Moro, IES José Luis Sampedro
Third: Miguel Ara Adánez and his teacher Santiago Aguado de la Obra, Our Lady of Memory School.
The team award went to the Nuestra Señora Santa María school.
This local phase gives way to the national one that will be held in Alcalá de Henares between June 21 and 23. The three finalists from each of the participating universities will attend there and it will allow us to meet the five best classified of the Spanish Olympiad of Economy who will represent us in the International Olympiad that will take place remotely between July 26 and August 1. We take the opportunity to thank all the participants for the example of effort and dedication they have shown us, while congratulating them on the achievement achieved.
