Children's and youth literature protagonists of some interesting days

Last April, together with the Association of Friends of Children's and Youth Books, a conference was organized for future education professionals. 

Between April 26 and 29, a conference was organized, forced as usual in recent times to do it remotely, through the Microsoft Teams videoconferencing application. were orOrganized by the Association of Friends of Children's and Young People's Books and by the Area of ​​Didactics of Language and Literature of the Department of Educational Sciences, Language, Culture and the Arts, Historical-Legal and Humanistic Sciences and Modern Languages ​​of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences. Sponsored by the General Directorate of Books and the Promotion of Reading, of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

They were attended, after registering with the Association of Friends of Children's and Young People's Books, by students of Teaching degrees (Degree in Early Childhood Education and Degree in Primary Education) of the Rey Juan Carlos University, in addition to several professors from the Department of Sciences of Education and Language of the Rey Juan Carlos University itself.

The conference was presented by Isabel Carril (Friends of the Book Association) and Nuria Anaya Reig (Rey Juan Carlos University), who also moderated the debates and introduced the speakers. There was a first talk as a preamble, with the title "With good wickers: suggestions on LIJ for future teachers", given by Vicente Calvo Fernández, Coordinator of the URJC Language and Literature Didactics Area.

Then, the different presentations were developed: on Monday, April 26, "Influence of new technologies in Children's and Youth Literature", by Prof. Ramón F. Llorens García (University of Alicante), and "Of the oral tradition to written narration”, by Prof. Antonio Rodríguez Almodóvar, Researcher and writer and winner of the 2005 National Prize for Children's and Youth Literature. On Tuesday, April 27, “From poetic reading to the interpretation of non-dramatic texts” , by Prof. Estrella Ortiz, teacher, storyteller and writer. The next day, Wednesday, April 28, "The publishing world and its relationship with the school", by Prof. Marta Higueras, editor and specialist in publishing children's books, to close the course, Thursday, April 29 , with "Illustration in the formation of children's and young readers", by Prof. Jaime García Padrino, Professor of Didactics of Language and Literature and Honorary Professor at the UCM, and "Techniques for encouraging reading in the classroom”, by Prof. Ana García-Castellano, writer and storyteller. After each talk, a round of debate was established among the attendees. Finally, the course was closed by the co-organizers, Isabel Carril and Nuria Anaya Reig.
