The URJC is placed in position 199 in the world according to the 'UI GreenMetric' ranking, in which it stands out especially in the 'Education & Research' indicator, ranking number 1 at the national level.

The Rey Juan Carlos University remains among the world's elite in university sustainability according to the 'UI GreenMetric' ranking, which places the Madrid institution in position 199 in the world (out of 1.183), in its latest edition.

The URJC leads the 'Education & Research' indicator at the national level, reaching 1750 points. Furthermore, this ranking highlights its performance in the 'Waste' indicator, placing it, for this item, as third in the regional scope. With these data, the Rey Juan Carlos University continues to be among the 10 most sustainable in Spain, occupying seventh place.

Among the 500 most sustainable according to QS

The latest edition of the 'QS Sustainability' ranking has placed the Rey Juan Carlos University among the 500 most sustainable in the world out of a total of 1.397 universities analyzed.

In this case, the indicator in which the URJC stands out the most at the national level, once again, is 'Impact of Education'. In this category, the Rey Juan Carlos University is positioned thirteenth of the total of Spanish universities.

The Rey Juan Carlos University achieves fourth place at the regional level in the 'Health & Wellbeing' indicator, with a score of 87,1 points, which represents an improvement of 66,1 compared to the previous year.

According to the Deputy Vice-Rector for Strategy, Diana Benito Osorio, “there is no doubt that the URJC's institutional commitment to sustainability continues to enrich us as a university community, while our efforts continue to be recognized, inside and outside our borders.”

In this sense, the institution recently received a boost for its commitment to sustainability when CRUE Spanish Universities recognized their work when it comes to incorporating sustainability in teaching.
