The vice-rectorate of students of the URJC has today revealed the winners of the design of a logo that represents this organization of the Action Unit Committed to Students (UACE). The two winners are students of the degree in Comprehensive Design and Image Management, at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The event took place in the Departmental II building on the Móstoles campus.

The event was inaugurated by the rector of the URJC, Javier Ramos, who in his words highlighted the functions of the Student House.  

Next, attendees were able to enjoy a video in which the Vice-Rector for Students, Almudena López, highlighted the University's desire to maintain a close dialogue with the student body: “The Institution must be at the service of the students, as well such as, establishing synergies to create a better university.”  

New building  

At the event, it was also announced that La Casa del Estudiante will have a building on the Móstoles Campus. The Director of Infrastructure at the URJC, Marta Chaves, explained that this building has to be “singular and independent, so that it can be easily recognized.”  

Once we reached the central event of the event, the awards ceremony, the vice-rector for students thanked all the students for their participation in the contest, while at the same time expressing her surprise at the high influx of applications.

The different projects that the students have presented have been seen through an audiovisual presentation. At the end of this, the designs of the contest finalists, Marta Tragacete Morcillo and Ana Isabel Suarez Rodríguez, and the two winners, Verónica García Jiménez and Xuan Delgado Mallo, were shown.  

Xuan Delgado wanted to thank the different institutions that have launched this initiative for their involvement, as well as his teachers of the Image Design and Management degree. The winner stated that: “The logo was born with the desire to be able to preserve the values ​​of the URJC, such as the sense of belonging.”   

Closing of the act  

To conclude the event, the rector of the URJC conveyed that the objective of the university students is to improve the lives of people who have not been fortunate enough to have access to it, to do so "you have to live Campus life." The new Student House building was created “so that you can spend time dreaming about what we want the URJC to be like in 20 years.”
