The opening ceremony of the Theoretical Archeology Group 'TAG Ibérico' will take place at the Juan Bravo Theater with free admission until capacity is reached. In addition to presenting the congress, Marga Sánchez-Romero, professor of Prehistory at the University of Granada together with Felipe Criado-Boado, director of the Institute of Heritage Sciences, and Jaime Almansa-Sánchez, doctor and postdoctoral researcher at the INCIPIT-CSIC, will try to unravel the close relationship between archeology and society.

To round off the evening, Luis M. Martínez-Otero, researcher at the Alicante Institute of Neurosciences, will bring the union between science and magic closer to the public, demonstrating how easy it is to trick the brain and how this can help us better understand the world.

The Congress is headed by Jaime Almansa-Sánchez, doctor and postdoctoral researcher at INCIPIT-CSIC since 2017, and Alberto Polo Romero, professor in the Archeology Area of the URJC. This year, the novelty that the TAG Ibérico brings is a change in format, focused in this case only on round tables to enhance dialogue between attendees. The event has been sponsored by the Provincial Council of Segovia, the Junta de Castilla y León and the Museum of Segovia.

In the following days, February 9 and 10, various discussion tables will be held that will revolve around varied topics in relation to archeology and different points of view: from prehistoric archeology and the economic valuation of archaeological assets in administrative and judicial procedures. , passing through the archeology of the territory, the forms of rural settlement between the Roman and medieval periods, the complexity of archaeological data, the dissemination of archaeological heritage in rural areas and much more.

For this purpose, researchers from multiple Iberian institutions and entities will be part of the discussion tables. This is the case of institutions such as CSIC-INCIPIT, University of Alicante, University of Santiago de Compostela, University of Granada, Complutense University, Rey Juan Carlos University, among others.
