The Fuenlabrada Campus reveals the hidden side of ICT

Under the title 'The hidden side of our digital technologies', the Green Office of the Rey Juan Carlos University launches the II Conference on ICT and Sustainability. Some 300 people have already registered for the activity that will take place on March 13 at the Fuenlabrada Campus. 
Women represent 85% of all journalists who earn less than 1.000 euros per month. Men, meanwhile, occupy 75% of management positions in the media.

The URJC, with International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Rey Juan Carlos University launches different activities between today and tomorrow, Thursday, March 8, to celebrate it. Likewise, the URJC shares the manifesto issued by the CRUE in defense of equal treatment and opportunities between men and women.
More than forty volunteers, gardening students and users of the Juan XXIII Roncalli Foundation will reforest the Fuenlabrada Campus on Friday, March 9. With the planting of locust and stone pines, the CO² absorption capacity of these green areas will increase.

A year of changes and challenges

The rector, Javier Ramos, takes stock of his first year in office. In an interview, he has emphasized the commitment to excellence and internationalization.
Today this free workshop is held at 16:00 p.m. to learn how to manage the client sector of a company or project. The expert in 'Lean Startup', Pablo Valcárcel, will give the activity in the Business Incubator of the municipal council.

Guinness record for radio for the URJC

Students from the Rey Juan Carlos University have broken the Guinness record for the longest radio program in the world. During more than 3 days of uninterrupted broadcast, more than 30 collaborators and guests have passed through its microphones.
This Friday morning, the Fuenlabrada Campus analyzed the space occupied by women on the Internet and, more specifically, their treatment on social networks. Some twenty students have attended the presentations by different experts on cyberbullying in the digital age.
For the first time in just 22 years of history, the Rey Juan Carlos University has exceeded the figure of 1000 places assigned for its two main mobility programs for students. This year the university will finance part of the expenses of the students who participate in the 'Munde' programme.

Equality and 'jazz' on the eve of March 8

The Gender Equality Observatory awards the 'I Celia Amorós Award' to the 7N Platform against Sexist Violence. The 'jazz' artist Myriam Latrece will put music to this day for equality, with a concert that will also kick off the XII Edition of the URJC Jazz Cycle.
The film director Isabel de Ocampo inaugurates today the 'III Conference. The body as a measure: A body of cinema' at the Rey Juan Carlos University. Some 200 students will experience two days of conferences, workshops and exhibitions around art, dance and performance.

The LeIA robot, star of the URJC stand in Aula

The largest showcase of Spanish universities has opened its doors today. For five days, the Madrid Trade Fair Institution (IFEMA) has around 400 stands from educational institutions. Helped by the latest technologies and by the LeIA robot, the advisors of the Rey Juan Carlos University offer students their new academic offer.

Improvements in the Library loan service

Starting today, students will be able to renew their loans for one more period of 14 days.
The Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor in the Zamora town of Toro will host a new performance by this musical group on Saturday, the 3rd. An instrumental and choral concert dedicated to the work of Bach.
