What knowledge will I acquire with this Degree?

The Degree in Business Management and Management in the Digital Field is a general degree, in business management and management, but in a specific field, digital, which is transversal to the economy and requires specific training.

In this degree, the necessary knowledge is acquired to acquire the ability to function professionally and personally in the digital economy, manage, organize and share information in digital contexts.

The necessary knowledge is acquired to understand the digital phenomenon and incorporate it into the strategic orientation of projects in organizations to communicate, interact and collaborate efficiently with tools and in digital environments (digital business models, online strategies, digital marketing plans). , digital customer management, etc…).

Where will I be able to work when I graduate?

The Degree has a clear vocation for employability, and is focused on offering the labor market professionals with the necessary training to respond to the current needs of Spanish companies.

There is no doubt that the market in the digital field is growing in business volume, and therefore promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, and increasing competitiveness through what has come to be called the "digital economy". This gives rise to a growing demand for profiles with knowledge in the digital field, so employability is practically guaranteed.

There are three vectors of employability for the graduate: newly created companies in the digital economy, the digital transformation that many companies are experiencing, in which they are changing both organization charts and processes, to take advantage of the competitive advantages generated by the digital environment, and the conventional companies in which part of their business takes place in the digital environment.

Graduates will be able to perform jobs in the key functions of company areas such as marketing, communication, product, sales, R&D, HR, IT... highlighting the figure of the CDO or Chief Digital Officer, as the person responsible for the digital strategy of the company. As has been pointed out, it is a general degree, in business administration and management, but in a specific field, digital. Thus, the different thematic areas that are addressed in this degree include one or several subjects that can be conceived in an integrated manner, in such a way that they constitute coherent units from the disciplinary point of view.

- Company Thematic Area: This area deals with subjects such as Introduction to the Company, Company Organization, Operations Management, Management Information Systems, HR Management and Strategic Management.

- Digital Economy Area: The digital economy area constitutes the bulk of the specialization subjects of the degree. Knowledge related to the Digital Ecosystem, Digital Market Research, Operational Technology of the Digital Economy, Digital Customer Management, Digital Project Management, Usability and Information Architecture, E-commerce, Technology Management and Government, Models are addressed. of business in the Digital Economy, Creation of companies in digital environments

Recommended Income Profile

No restriction other than that established by the Legislation on the University Entrance Exam (PAU) is placed and, on the other hand, given the multidisciplinary nature of the Degree in Business Administration and Management in the Digital Field (Digital Business), it is complex to design a specific and ideal income profile. Although it would be desirable for the student of this degree to have a series of characteristics and skills, such as:

Objectives 

The main objective of the Degree in Business Administration and Management in the digital field is to train professionals capable of developing professionally and personally in companies framed in the so-called digital economy, performing management, advisory and organizational tasks.

Graduates must understand the digital phenomenon and incorporate it into the strategic orientation of projects in organizations to communicate, interact and collaborate efficiently with digital tools and environments (digital business models, online strategies, digital marketing plans, digital client, etc…).

Minimum stay requirements 

  • The permanence of the students in the Degree studies will be a maximum of eight years for full-time students. Part-time students may request an extension of up to two more years from the Rector.
  • In Bachelor's degrees lasting more than 240 credits (4 years), the maximum of the previous section will be increased by one more year for every 60 ECTS credits that are added to the 240 ECTS.
  • Students must pass a minimum of two subjects in the first year. Students studying part-time must pass at least one subject in their first academic year.
  • Students who are studying any official Bachelor's degree at the Rey Juan Carlos University may make a maximum of four registrations to pass each of the subjects of the study plan, without counting previous cancellations of the same.

External Internships

The External Practices subject is a curricular subject whose main objective is to promote a comprehensive training of the student through the practical application of the knowledge acquired during the Degree, which facilitates direct contact with the professional activity and the opportunity to join the professional world with a minimum of experience. All practices are designed so that the students who participate in them acquire professional experience in real situations and conditions, applying the knowledge, skills and attitudes that are acquired in the training processes throughout the degree. The internships represent a decisive opportunity for the personal development and professional future of the students.

The internships are actividdireccion_gestion_empresas_ambito_digitals that the student carries out in companies, institutions and organizations; that is, in centers outside the university premises, which aim to enrich and complement your university education, while providing you with a deeper knowledge about the skills you will need once you have graduated.

The External Practices subject will consist of two phases:

  • Completion of the internship period that offers professional experience related to any of the graduate profiles that are expressed in the Verification Report of the degree.

Orientation to future students. The University offers various orientation programs for future students: we carry out visits to high schools and secondary schools, we organize guided visits to the Campuses, we are present in the Classroom and, at the beginning of each course, we carry out welcome days to guide students new students.

Coordinator of the degree. It works to promote coherence and balance between the subjects and the workloads of the students.

Improvement actions

The Quality Assurance System of the Rey Juan Carlos University establishes that the degree's Quality Assurance Commission will annually analyze the information derived from the degree's indicators and prepare a report that will include improvement plans if the results so indicate.

Renewal of accreditation

The renewal of the accreditation represents the culmination of the implementation process of the official Bachelor's and Master's degrees registered in the Register of Universiddireccion_gestion_empresas_ambito_digitals, Centers and Degrees (RUCT). The renewal of the accreditation of official bachelor's and master's degrees is organized in three phases: self-assessment report, external visit and final assessment.

In the first phase, the university describes and assesses the status of the degree with respect to the established criteria and guidelines. The result is the Self-Assessment Report (IA) that is presented. The second and third phases are carried out by a group of evaluators external to the evaluated title.
