Recommended Income Profile

On the recommended income profile, no restriction other than that established by law (PAU) is placed.

At the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), there are no specific entrance exams to determine the access of students to the Nursing degree. However, the training program for the Nursing degree defines the professional profile in a theoretical framework in relation to care, teaching and research activity. Whose goals or purposes of the Nursing training program are:

  • Comprehensive education promoting a humanistic spirit, developing both knowledge, skills and attitudes
  • Open interaction in relation to the socio-health environment, as well as multidisciplinary integration
  • Modern teaching, applying new pedagogical technologies
  • Care approach, using the Nursing methodology.

To adapt the entry profile to professional skills and achieve integration into multidisciplinary health teams, the degree develops a care model, delimiting the area of specific competence.

Nursing practice is continually confronted with the identification of problems, whose objective is not only to combat illness, but also to satisfy a wide range of human needs whose assessment and diagnosis form a substantial part of nursing activity today. It must also maintain or restore the patient's independence to meet her fundamental needs, solving the deficits she presents and also those of those who are responsible for her care.

In order to achieve greater adaptation to the professional profile of the students who access the degree, courses and extracurricular training activities focused on the aforementioned goals are established.

Objectives

The basic training of the nurse will include 4 years (240 ECTS credits) of theoretical and practical education given or under the control of the university, which will guarantee that the interested party has acquired the knowledge and skills necessary for the exercise of their profession.

The Law on the Organization of Health Professions (Law 44/2003, of November 21), states in its article 7. 2a.: "University Diplomas in Nursing are responsible for the direction, evaluation and provision of Nursing care aimed at the promotion, maintenance and recovery of health, as well as the prevention of diseases and disabilities”.

In general terms, it is intended that the Nursing Degree title trains generalist nurses with scientific and human preparation and sufficient training to assess, identify, act and evaluate the health and care needs of healthy or sick people. families and community. The basis of the objectives is based on the conceptual framework of the nurse responsible for general care and, above all, that takes into account the requirements that society needs and demands of these professionals. It seems important to us to differentiate between training objectives and strategies since both make up the teaching purposes of the Degree in Nursing.
