Basic Information

What knowledge will I acquire with this Master?

Since the implementation and launch of the Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture, in the 2011/2012 academic year, the URJC has continued a process of developing and updating its Bachelor's and Master's degrees based around Architecture and taking from it its two aspects: the creative (linked to design) and technique (linked to technology and landscape). This University considers Architecture as one of the main pillars for the development of new University Projects, mainly due to the multidisciplinary nature that is circumscribed to its teaching approach and that allows it to cover, from the most philosophical and social elements to the most technical and innovative.

In this process, the proposed Master's degree comes to complete the trajectory begun with the implementation of the Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture, in order to enable obtaining the title of Architect - as a regulated profession - to be complete within the college.

This Master must be understood as the natural path to be followed by the students who are currently studying the Degree, who have expressed in a notable and majority way their interest in its implementation.

Is this degree official according to the regulations required by the European Higher Education Area?

*From the "PROFESSION" block, at least 6 ECTS credits must be taken. The planned combinations are either the completion of the External Academic Practices, or the two subjects Research Workshop and Professional Development Workshop. For a more extensive explanation, see the External Internships section on this page.

External Internships

The External Academic Practices (PAE) are carried out optionally through insertion for at least 150 hours in a professional environment typical of the profession of Architect, in one of the companies with which the master has an agreement, which includes a large number of options among which can be highlighted multiple architecture studios, the Official College of Architects of Madrid, public administrations, etc.

As an alternative to the PAE, the 6 ECTS of the subject "PROFESSION" can be obtained by taking the two optional subjects of 3 ECTS (Architectural Research Workshop and Professional Development Workshop).

The option of External Academic Internships can be considered appropriate for students who have not completed this type of Internship before in their undergraduate studies, nor have they had previous or simultaneous professional practice in a professional space specific to the profession. For the rest of the students, it would be more appropriate to take both subjects; In any case, the choice must be made at the time of registration, and complete a minimum of 6 ECTS from the PROFESSION block.

The renewal of the accreditation of official bachelor's and master's degrees is organized in three phases: self-assessment report, external visit and final assessment.

In the first phase, the university describes and assesses the status of the degree with respect to the established criteria and guidelines. The result is the Self-Assessment Report (IA) that is presented. The second and third phases are carried out by a group of evaluators external to the evaluated title.”
