The student deepens in the applied knowledge of international economies, which is of high academic value given the extensive interconnection of all economies in an increasingly globalized world. Recommended income profile

Students who have possession of an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that authorizes access to Master's degrees in the country that issued the degree.

Objectives

The fundamental objectives of the Master in Analysis of International Economic Relations are:

  • Provide the student with a broader and deeper knowledge of the basic institutions of the international economy, especially those dedicated to trade between different countries, as well as increase their knowledge of regulation and financing.
  • Provide students with the quantitative and qualitative knowledge necessary to perform international financial analyst tasks.
  • In turn, the Master will deepen the understanding of international economic relations and the economic and legal environment in which international economic transactions are carried out.

Competences

General skills:

  • CG01 - Capacity for analysis and synthesis: the student will be able to highlight those relevant characteristics that must guide the analysis or synthesis and will know how to acquire the necessary ability to compose the different parts of the analysis in a structured and coherent way.
  • CG02 - Basic skills in the management of computer systems: the advancement of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in university teaching raises the need for students to know and work with the main sources of information available in computer media for the analysis of the international reality. In addition, students will acquire skills for the selection, knowledge and use of computer tools and instruments related to the international economic and legal space.
  • CG03 - Capacity for criticism and self-criticism: After completing the Master's degree, students will be able to detect and solve problems, as well as make decisions, considering the different alternatives, characteristics, criteria and optimal results.

  • CE02 - Ability to acquire advanced knowledge of existing international regulations in legal, commercial and financial matters.
  • CE03 - Ability to identify and interpret the key parameters and indicators, graphs and tables, both quantitative and qualitative, of International Relations in general and of the specific space under study.
  • CE04 - Ability to carry out comparative analysis, knowing how to integrate knowledge and formulate judgments based on information that, being incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities.
  • CE05 - Ability to transfer and apply the principles and strategies learned from one situation to another in a way that facilitates the development of less favored social groups.
  • CE06 - Ability to apply advanced valuation models to different financial assets at the international level.
  • CE07 - Ability to obtain and interpret the economic and financial data of companies.
  • CE08 - Ability to understand the foundations and foundations of foreign trade from both a theoretical and practical perspective, being able to understand the relations and trade agreements between countries, as well as the different trade policy instruments, knowing the "Incoterms" and the real problems of international contracting and commercial risk management.

  • CE10 - That the student acquires the advanced knowledge necessary to provide a legal solution to the cases of international mergers, cross-border insolvency proceedings of natural or legal persons, or transfers of headquarters in which there is an element of internationality.

  • CE12 - Ability to apply and compare advanced models of economic growth in the international framework through statistical techniques.

Admission and enrollment

Admission:

The requirements for access to the proposed title are according to article 18, of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28:

  1. Possession of an official Spanish Graduate or Graduate university degree or equivalent is a condition for accessing a Master's Degree, or, where appropriate, having another University Master's degree, or titles of the same level as the Spanish Bachelor's or Master's degree issued by universities and higher education institutions in an EHEA country that in that country allow access to Master's degrees.
  2. In the same way, people in possession of titles from educational systems that are not part of the EHEA, which are equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, will be able to access a Master's Degree in the Spanish university system, without the need for homologation of the title, but verification by of the university of the level of training that they imply, as long as in the country where said title was issued it allows access to university postgraduate level studies. In no case will access through this route imply the homologation of the previous degree held by the person concerned or its recognition for other purposes than that of carrying out the Master's degree.

General access criteria:

The specific qualifications that will facilitate access to the Master are the following:

  • Degree in economics
  • Degree in Business Administration and Management
  • Degree in law

Conditions or special access tests:

For the admission of students, a commission appointed by the Director of the master's degree and made up of two professors, one from the field of economics and the other from the field of law, as well as the director himself, will carry out a personal interview and a written test to Assess mastery of basic economic and legal knowledge that allows students to take advantage of the knowledge taught in the master.

In the event that the demand exceeds the supply of places, the percentage of the evaluation criteria will be:

  • 70% The Personal Interview and the written test
  • 30% The Assessment of the student's curriculum, taking into account their academic record, their professional experience, as well as their projection in relation to the objectives of the master's degree.

Candidate selection:

The selection of applicants is made by the Head of the Master and will be by submitting a standardized curriculum with the specific profile required. For the selection, criteria of professional experience, academic record and motivation will be taken into account. The curriculum vitae will be valued.

Offer of places: 40 places. If the minimum number of students envisaged is not reached in a course, the University may choose not to open the teaching group.

External Internships

The External Practices subject is a curricular subject whose main objective is to promote a comprehensive training of the student through the practical application of the knowledge acquired during the Master's degree, which facilitates direct contact with the professional activity and the opportunity to join the professional world with a minimum of experience. All practices are designed so that the students who participate in them acquire professional experience in real situations and conditions, applying the knowledge, skills and attitudes that are acquired in the training processes throughout the degree. The internships represent a decisive opportunity for the personal development and professional future of the students.

Internships are activities carried out by the student in companies, institutions and organizations; that is, in centers outside the university premises, which aim to enrich and complement their university education, while providing them with a deeper knowledge about the skills they will need in the future.

The External Practices subject will consist of two phases.

First. Completion of the internship period that offers professional experience related to any of the profiles that are expressed in the Verification Report of the degree.

Renewal of accreditation

The renewal of the accreditation represents the culmination of the implementation process of the official Bachelor's and Master's degrees registered in the Register of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT). The renewal of the accreditation of official bachelor's and master's degrees is organized in three phases: self-assessment report, external visit and final assessment.

In the first phase, the university describes and assesses the status of the degree with respect to the established criteria and guidelines.
